In my new role as a sales consultant I identify the needs of customers who want to implement their ideas in human resources development with digital learning, and I then place our suitable solutions according to that. Integrating our portfolio of over 100 e-learning units into a learning culture to respond to the needs of the employees is what got me fired, and it was also the biggest motivator for me moving into into this role.
In my day-to-day work I especially like the Customizing in Compliance environment, setting up individual solutions and using adaptive learning and specific learning content to make the learning experience more approachable and easier for employees.
We work in a really great, innovative field that’s constantly progressing, and the team is made up of a colorful bunch of people from different backgrounds and all of them are passionate about the topic of training and further education. We don’t do cold calling, we distribute the incoming inquiries to the team, then do needs analysis, present our products to the customer and provide advice. What brings us together is a genuine keenness for learning, an affinity for technology and the qualities of a good listener, and we need all of that to pick up our customers and work with them to set the right path towards digital learning, and to get there as well.
Together with three other colleagues I head a very diverse team as Team Leader Consulting Inhouse Learning Solutions. Whether you’re a sales professional, swapping careers, younger or older – we’ve got the right team spirit.
The outstanding thing about us and the entire Haufe Akademie is we only want to sell the customers what really suits them. The uptake of that is we then experience years of productive cooperation at eye level with the customer.
As a new father the work-life balance plays an important role for me, and it’s not just a buzzword for us but is also encouraged and supported by the managers. It means after four months of parental leave I can now work part-time and gain those unforgettable experiences with my young daughter.
