As a specialist editor along with my team colleagues, I’m responsible for all content concerning our digital database for tax law. Above all, that means always being up to date, and keeping track of laws, jurisdiction and politics and analyzing the market are important tasks. Whether it’s news, technical articles, seminars or app solutions, we have to create the content today that’s going to be relevant for customers and their everyday existences tomorrow.
In my role it’s also particularly important to maintain a strong external network. This includes interfaces with experts, authors and speakers, and also close exchange and keeping up our contact with customers.
I really like the fact that I constantly learn new things – we don’t stand still but always keep up with the latest developments, and that lets us create solutions for customers that offer them a genuine plus factor.
My everyday work is a fascinatingly mixed bag of operational and strategic topics. On the one hand I’m in close contact with the teams, for example when we develop new product concepts, and on the other it’s my job to create good framework conditions so that day-to-day business and new projects can be successfully implemented. That needs budgets, resources, the right skills and a lot more. Cultural factors also play an important role in a department with around 80 employees, for example concerning how we work together. The impact of digitalization on our business, what future content will look like and what that means for the tasks and roles in a specialist editorial team is, and will be, a key challenge.
What I like about my role? That’s working with people who develop unique content and solutions for enthusiastic customers with a high level of fun and passion and across team and departmental boundaries.
It really pleases me when we achieve targets together, when customers love our products or when I can contribute to my employees and colleagues enjoying their daily work.
